“No valid plugins” Instagram Widget WordPress plugin installation error

We try to keep the installation process of our plugins and apps as simple as possible, however, sometimes errors do occur. Some of our customers have complained about this error message they get when trying to install InstaLink WordPress plugin:

"The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found."

It sounds scary, but in fact is quite easy to fix. The thing is that InstaLink comes as a zip archive that contains the plugin zip, as well as doc files and changelog. And this kind of mistake means that you try to install not the plugin zip as such, but the complete product zip, with the plugin and the additional folders. What you have to do is get the plugin installer zip instead of trying to install the whole plugin zip.

You can do it in two ways:

  1. The first way is to unzip the full product zip.

In this archive you will see various files, the folder with the plugin itself, and the plugin installer zip that you have to upload to WordPress. In case of InstaLink, you’ll need instalink.zip

  2. The second way is to go to https://codecanyon.net/downloads (log in if necessary), select InstaLink, click Download button, and then select Installable WordPress file only. After that you can use the downloaded zip to install InstaLink plugin to your WordPress website!
