Setting the source of your Instagram Feed plugin

In this article

Set your source type

Due to changes on Instagram side, we had to rethink the source logic, and starting with version 4 you can display Instagram posts from 3 types of sources:

  • Your personal Instagram account
  • Business Instagram account that is connected to a Facebook page you're an owner or admin of
  • Images by hashtags posted over the last 24 hours

To select the type of source you need to connect, go to Content tab of the plugin's settings, and click on the option you choose in Source Type field:

Display your personal account

To connect your personal Instagram account to the plugin, go to Content tab of the plugin's settings, select Personal and click Connect to Instagram:

When the Instagram login window comes up, login with your account, and you're good!

Display your business account

To connect a business account to your plugin, you need to select the option you need on Content tab, and click Connect to Facebook. You will see the login window:

After you've logged in, you will need to let the plugin access your account in order to be able to pull the images.

To do it, you need to check the page your business Instagram account is connected to. If you haven't connected your account to Facebook yet, here's an article that explains how to do it -  How to connect Facebook Page with Instagram account

To let the plugin access your Instagram posts, please, approve the requested permissions in the window that comes, throughout the connection process:

After the authorization you will see drop-down selection with the list of all Instagram business accounts that are connected to the pages you've authorized. You can now choose the account you need to connect. If you have only one account, it will be selected by default:

Display posts by hashtag

First, you need to connect to Facebook as described above. After the connection is established, you need to enter your hashtag and click Apply after you've connected your plugin:
